Privacy Policy

‘Empowered Futures’ is an innovative Canadian non-profit organization supporting emerging adults as they transition into adulthood.

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Empowered Futures Inc. (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (“User” or “you”) of our mentorship platform system (”System”). This Privacy Policy applies to the System and all products and services offered by Empowered Futures Inc..

While using our service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and Last name
  • Phone number
  • Cookies and Usage Data

We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.   2. To personalize the User experience: We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our System.
  3. To improve our System: We continually strive to improve our System offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from Users.
  4. To process transactions: We may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service.
  5. To send periodic emails: We may use the email address to send User information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests.

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information, and data stored on our System.

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users’ personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and Users with our business partners, trusted affiliates, and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent any time.

In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:

  • To comply with a legal obligation
  • To protect and defend the rights or property of Empowered Futures Inc.
  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
  • To protect the personal safety of Users of the Service or the public

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.

  • Google Analytics
    Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

    Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
    We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
  • Children’s Privacy
    Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).
    We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children have provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We have the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.

By using our System, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our System. Your continued use of the System following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
